The Grant Writer is responsible for researching and writing or assisting with writing grant applications and proposals for Chugachmiut and for the seven Native communities in the Chugach Region. The Grant Writer also provides training to Project Directors on general oversight for grant compliance, including the completion of timeline activities, budget modifications, allowable expenditures, and reporting requirements as instructed by the supervisor.
- B.A. or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in writing and/or administering a grant or contract including compliance issues and evidence of significant successful proposals and project completion is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of State and federal grant and contract opportunities and procedures pertaining to rural Native communities.
Hours worked are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour for lunch. This a full-time 37.5 hours per week and 1950 hours a year position. Chugachmiut maintains a non-smoking and drug & alcohol free work environment. There may be occasional travel to the villages of the region, must be willing and able to travel in light aircraft.
