Job Summary: The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for providing overall strategic and operational direction for the expansion of commercial business opportunities and 8(a) certified Small Business Administration (SBA) government contracting within Kake Tribal Corporation and subsidiaries.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the COO will be to boost the profitability of KTC and subsidiaries through the expansion of business opportunities, monitoring quality, recommending timelines and identifying resources needed to achieve KTC’s strategic goals. This position requires a detail oriented strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, the ability to communicate with precision and clarity, and a demonstrated business management history.
The COO will:
- Advise the KTC President of the activities of the Corporation and its subsidiaries with continual transparency and integrity.
- Act ethically in every aspect of the position.
- Carry out the direction of the KTC President and Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with and provide recommendations to the President and to the Board of Directors on development of goals, objectives, and strategies for KTC and subsidiaries.
- Solve problems effectively and diplomatically, working with a broad range of stakeholders when necessary.
- Establish and foster active relationships and networks within KTC, subsidiaries, nationwide and/or globally.
- Promote diversity within the KTC and subsidiaries.
- Work Hybrid both on and off site
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Business Management.
- Experience in successful management of 8A companies.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of senior level management experience, showing demonstrated progressive levels of responsibility.
- Must have Fiscal management experience.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check.
- Travel will be required.
