Process Technology Faculty Position

Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) invites applications for its Term Assistant Professor of Process Technology position located in Soldotna, Alaska, effective August 2024.

The successful candidate will teach 100-and 200-level courses in the areas of process technology, industrial instrumentation and other related areas, advise students in PRT related areas, and coordinate with the PRT industries in the State of Alaska, including serving on advisory committees for PRT education.

To thrive in this role, you must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to advise and communicate technical content and training to non-engineering students through modalities ranging from face-to-face classes to online teaching. You will have knowledge of KPC’s PRT AAS degree program. Your process operating experience will include upstream, or downstream oil & gas operations, chemical or power production and experience in process control applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

You will need an Associate degree in Process Technology, Instrumentation or a related field and documented 5-years of process operating experience, OR no degree and 15-years of process operator experience in natural resources industry.

Other preferred qualifications include Industry instructional training experience as well as experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and programming industrial process instrumentation systems.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, term-funded, 9-month, faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. Finalists for this position will be asked to give a 10-minute teaching presentation pertaining to a 100- or 200- level process technology related topic typically delivered in a classroom, and a 20-30 minute skills demonstration involving a hands-on lab simulation.
