Job Summary:
The Remote Certified Electrician position supports the Niblack Mine on the Prince of Wales Island for POWTEC, LLC' s. This position will primarily focus on providing electrical preventative maintenance and repairs to existing electrical systems, as well as provide the expertise and experience needed to complete design, planning, installation, and functional checkout of new or modified electrical systems in accordance with local codes and regulations. Electricians will provide the expertise to install, repair, replace, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance within a barge and wall tents. The Electrician must be a certified subject matter expert with experience working remotely.
The position is working 12-hour shifts, at a remote mine Monday-Sunday, 84 hours weekly and scheduled approximately 3 weeks on 3 weeks off while in a long phase, can be at camp up to 6 weeks.
Transportation to and from site is provided from Ketchikan, Alaska. The employee is responsible for arranging their own travel to Ketchikan, AK.
Room and board provided at the work site during the time-on period.
This is position requires successfully passing both a background and drug screening to qualify and will be subject to any post-accident and/or reasonable suspicion testing throughout employment.
Must be US Citizen
Wage $38+/hour depends on experience
What you will bring:
Ability to read blueprints.
Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s certification required.
Experience with remote camps
